Park Attractions

The Los Santos Forest Reserve protects forest habitats in the Talamanca Mountains south and west of the city of San Jose. Within Los Santos, you will find the Cerro Las Vueltas Biological Reserve and the Paramo Wildlife Refuge.

Driving Directions

The Biological Station can be reached by continuing through Cartago on the Interamerican Highway. Shortly after you pass the turnoff to Copey de Dota, the road to the Station will be on your left.

Park Facilities and Hours

The La Esperanza de El Guarco Biological Station, operated by InBio is in neighboring Tapanti National Park. It has lodging for up to 15 people, with water, restrooms, showers and electricity.

Other nearby parks include La Cangreja National Park and Joseph Steve Friedman Wildlife Refuge.
