Horizontes Experimental Forest

This station is the principal base for an experiment forestry restoration program. This long term project seeks to re-populate land that was once used for agriculture with native species of the dry tropical forest of Costa Rica.

From San Jose, take the Interamerican highway to Liberia. From there, take the road leading west to Guardia, then turn right and drive past Culebra Bay to the Station at Horizontes.  See also Iguanita Wildlife Refuge and Santa Rosa National Park Costa Rica.

There are no public facilities in the Horizontes Experimental Forest Station Costa Rica.

Basic accomodations for university and research personnel, an events building and other investigation facilities are onsite.
